Would've done mine already too, but here in St L. County, we had a big fuss going on because of the method of "appraisal" used. The appraiser was fired, everyone had a chance to "appeal", etc, etc.
Been going on for months, won't be settled for some time yet.
Mine went up 40 percent
Got "the letter" Monday moving me to the next step in the appeal process, but the funds are due in - in full - by Jan 1, regardless of appeal status.
Now, what are the chances of geting any back once they have it??? Yeah, right!!

Ed, you got one chance. Blow the levee open, flood the Parish hall, and wipe out all the records. Then they have to start all over from scratch.
By the time they figure out what you owe, it'll be 2010!

We are sensible here in NYC. We did all the year-end stuff on 12/21 and reopen fresh and rested on 1/2.
Oh, well.
