...the ritual of rising reminds all who are present of the gravity of the proceedings that are about to be dealt with in "this place." This is no game.
As to the points of NCO vs. Officer each has his duties and the largest problem is when one is trying to do the others or has little faith is the others compitance. Granted NCO's have been brought up through the system and this makes them subject matter experts.(when it comes to hands on use in the Military) On the other hand Officers have schooling that gives them a broad picture. (long term if you will) they focus in the position of brain and NCO's and EM's the rest of the body. As you can see one cannot function totally with out the other. The worst Officers I have come across failed to heed the advice and guidance of their NCO's. The worst NCO's I have seen spent too much time on the here and now rather than taking all the information that Officer spent 100000$ on and getting a crash course on the big picture.(be it new trends or strategy) It is the job no duty of a NCO to train EM's and Officers not only in the day to day workings but also using your experience to guide them in the right way.
