I'm sure glad to know this is a minority view; but doesn't the very term seem -- uhh -- somewhat self-contradictory? |

Hey at least they are killing the object of their hatred. the "guilty" parties.
Of course I would not mind if each and every terrorist on earth christian or otherwise were to meet with a horrific end. |

One could probably say the same of muslim terrorists if you want to get down to brass tacks.
but you are also wrong. If someone gets their idea based how ever wrongly on their religion it is still a person of a particular faith being the terrorist. They may be wrong with regard to current popular interperetation. Just like the christians who ran around the americas killing non believers. They truely believed they were doing right by god. |

I'm not clear on which Christians are running around the Americas killing non-believers but I can tell you that such a person is severely deceived if he/she thinks they're "doing right by God".
I've got to plead ignorance regarding Islam. |

"but you are also wrong."
Well, doesnt really matter what I say, or you say, or what the dude himself says....matters what God says...dude is either a Christian or not...I think God would disagree with him.
Unless you think "Christian" is a political or organizational term. |

Wait a minute I thought only Muslims are called terrorists? Christians and Jews are 'orthodox' at worst? |

By making the extreme example seem the norm the 'News' medias do us a great service...(yeah like fueling ill-conceived prejudice and hatred of Christian's). |

Unless you think "Christian" is a political or organizational term. | I am not sure what you mean.
A christian is one who professes to believe in christ. Whether he follows the rules to the letter or not does not matter. He still perceives christ as the masiah and the bible to be the words of god and christ. He is a christian BTW he is also alowed to be forgivien for his transgressions. At worst he is guilty of a sin by your and most peoples standards. but you can not say he is not a person of the christian faith.
God may decide to treat this guy as a christian who failed. But he is not a jew, he is not a muslim, he is not an athiest or any other religion. He is a christian (and a bad or mislead one by most accounts).
BTW I believe no sin is supposed to be any worse than another so since you sin you are as bad as he is in the eyes of god. At least this is what I have heard. (one of my bones of contention with formalized religion.) You can be a child rapist, multiple torturing evil scurg and you are punished no worse than someone who eats meat at the wrong time or someone who thought that chick in home economics was really really cute. |
