flashing taskbar w/gAIM?
Hey, I've got my girlfriend converted to Linux now (Fedora Core 1 with KDE 3.2.2) but she has one "killer app" she'd really love to have, which is the notification behavior of AOL Instant Messanger.
She doesn't want any sounds, no windows jumping to the top with every message, but just the taskbar button for gAIM to flash like the windows version of AIM does.
Is there a plugin for this?

not that i know of.......but there is something useful. an asterik appears in the taskbar of that minimized message if you dont replay after a message. i dont know what its called but the plugins come with it in fedora so just load it from the plugin screen. it will say something like " message notification" or something similar. it works just fine too.

Thanks, that was pretty much what I was looking for.
Or at least close enough for government work

Kopete flashes on the taskbar if you want to use that.

Yeah, but Kopete doesn't have nice things like the idle time reporting options of gaim, the nice buddy list display, and the ability to send messages with an away message up, etc.

The only things I wish kopete had are buddy icons and file transfers for aim.

I mean being able to tell it to keep me idle when I'm at the computer, just not using gaim, or to tell it I've been idle for 2 hours even though I haven't.
