You get rid of the banner by :shock::Horror: Purchasing it!
I'm just as big of a fan as anybody of free software, but I dont' mind supporting a great well supported product for a decent price.
I've been using it for over a year now and I'm still finding new features!
I just realized the other day, that the links panel shows you ALL of the possible links in the current page. Makes mass downloading very easy! Just highlight all the links in the panel, and click 'Quick Download' Easy!
But it gets better 
There is a filter too, so you just put 'jpg' and it only shows you the picture files to make it even easier
