Knoppix boot disc
I have recently created a knoppix boot disc and would like to try it out soon. Do I need to create a second partition on my HD to install it? or can I run it straight from the disc? I have winXP installed on my C: drive right now, and I was wondering what the easiest/simplest way to test out this boot disc would be.
Thanks for reading.

You can run it straight from the disc.

yep, just stick in the knoppix disc and make sure your boot order is CDROM before the hard disk.

If you decide you want Knoppix on a HD install, go to knoppix.net and search for an installation guide in the forums. Can't remember who did it, but there was one really detailed one that helped me out a lot.
Good luck with Linux, my friend.

Knoppix Languages
G'day!
Joining you for the first time from sunny New Zealand...
I have a disk with Knoppix 3.7 which I can load up sweet as; everything seems to run. (not installed on HD just boot-from-disk)
Trouble is, it's in German. I have tried changing the wee icon, bottom right but it doesn't want to work.
Any clues chaps ? Pleeeeease (don't make me beg.
regards Ardag.

Knoppix 3.7?
Me again
Perhaps that is Knoppix 3.1, not 3.7!
German writing confuses 7's and 1's

ardag54,
Look at the source where u downloaded the KNOPPIX iso image from. There are different files in different languages.
U need to download KNOPPIX_V3.7-2004-****.***-EN-iso
The "EN" stands for english, i am confident u downlaoded "DE" or somoething instead of the "EN"
Look again!
