I hem and haw worse than most when it comes to changing up my lan. Ive got 5 machines right now and am bored.
current set up.
debian sed ( apache server / mysql server)
windows 2003 standard ( workstation )
xp sp 2 ( laptop)
2k3 web edition ( iis server )
2k5 mce ( capture box )
heres my story ( of a lovely lady, who was bringing up 3 girls of her own... )
the 2k3 web edition box is soon to become open bsd. Ive soft of made that decision. That being said, It will take over duties of serving out web content to the outside world.
the debian box is staying put and becoming my internal dev box.
the laptop is screaming to put ubuntu on but I have 1 problem. I cant find script writing software for linux. I use page2stage right now and it works well for my needs. I cant leave that hobby behind in a move to linux
the mce box is going to be tested with knopmyth using a ctx mt002 capture card. If that works then it will be blown out and debian with myth tv will be put on it.
the 2k3 standar is the final and hardest nut to crack. Theres no reason why I shouldnt switch the box but I just cant bring myself to do it.
And no I cant do it over time. I have a 4 day weekend so as Pickard would say
the line is drawn here
sorry for the ramble, Im emo over linux. Go figure.
