Airsnort and promiscuous mode

I loaded up airsnort and pretty much to start capturing packects it kicks the card into promiscuous mode. I loaded it up and i was kind of curious if there is a way to see if the wireless card is still running in promiscuous mode?

I stopped Airsnort, i get an ip address from the access point but i cant connect to any sites.

Running suse 9.1 with an orinoco card.

nevermind, for some reason suse wasnt wanting to cooperate with the DHCP server.

so i made a static ip, added gateway, DNS servers and it worked fine.

Weird as it was working last time with DHCP

oh well
