    Trying to install FC3

Hi all, its been a while since I've tried installing any flavor of linux, so i've reverted back to 'total newbie' status.

I have fc3 burnt to a dvd, and I have tried installing it on my laptop. but it doesnt want to go past uncompressing?

    message it gives is this:

    Uncompressing Linux...
    invalid compressed format (err=1)

    -- System halted

    Its also given (err=2)

    any ideas?

Sounds like your ISO image is borked. Did you do a MD5 checksum on it ?

and I think I already deleted the image off my hd ... doh.

Check to see if all your hardware is working correctly, could you give us your specs, that would help... Burn your iso image again using 24X speed & verify files etc...
