    Burning cd's under linux (mkisofs)

I am trying to burn a cd that has open office for Mac/Windows/Linux on it. But when I put the files in a folder and do a #mkisofs -v -o openoffice.iso * and then burn that iso to a cd, the file names get shortened. Open office for linux is no ooo-1.1.tgz instead of its longer name and .tar.gz at the end. I cannot extract it once copied off of the cd either.

I know I am probably doing something obviously wrong, thank you for any input you have.

use the following option to make it stop using 8.3 names and use 32 character names.
    -l
Allow full 32 character filenames. Normally the ISO9660 filename will be in an 8.3 format which is compatible with MS-DOS, even though the ISO9660 standard allows filenames of up to 32 characters. If you use this option, the disc may be difficult to use on a MS-DOS system, but this comes in handy on some other systems (such as the Amiga). Use with caution.
    That is from the manpage

Thank you, I looked at the man page. But didn't see it. My bad.

I will go try this out and see what happens
