    Setting up a FTP server...

Ok, I have ProFTPD installed on my Ubuntu machine...and I can't get it to let me log in...I am 95% sure the proftp.conf is not setup right...but I can't find a good site that will tell me exactly how to set it up...

I attached the proftpd.conf...and the user I want to access it is Nathan, and only be allowed to go to /ect/www/ and have a password...

    Thanks

    That doesn't help at all.

the only way i got it to work was to disable anonymous access then set the default ftp directory to the www folder.

Try this, I dont' know if it will work for you or not, but this is similar to how mine's set up. (took me a while to get it right, but once I did I made a ton of backup copies... )

Oh, btw, you might also want to adde the line: "DefaultServer on" somewhere on the top.

Woot...I got it to actually connect!

It keeps rejecting my login...but I am sure I will get that right after a few more trys.

The thing I noticed is that it takes a long time after it says "Connected with (IP address). Waiting for welcome message" before it does anything else in filezilla...any way to make it faster?

EDIT: Nvm...I got it to be really fast.

Now...it keeps tellimg me my login is incorrect...
