Hey guys,
I know this has probably been asked? anyways what i wana know is that I know Ubuntu is awesome for learning Linux and is a great Distro, but I want to know what the difference is between like regular Ubuntu and Kubuntu and all that? |

Ok but what I'd like to know is.....whats the diff between GNOME and KDE?.....are they like differently visually appealling or what? |

KDE is more geared towards window users while gnome is alittle bit more clean and small

so KDE is kinda more user friendly while GNOME is smaller but requires a little more effort? |

Well....ok....what I want is to pretty much learn linux the easiest way.....now if Kubuntu is more eye candy....but still runs really well (which isnt really hard compared to windows) then ill use that.....but if i should just use ubuntu then tell me....lol im just trying to do this the easiest way possible :P |

easiest way possible is to download a few different live cd's and play from there that way you can see the differences without installing |

Try them out both, its all personal preference. Learning linux isnt learning how to get around the desktop. Its what you can make it do from the CLI |

alright i guess ill do that.....download ubuntu and kubuntu lvie cd's.....try em out....see which one i like....then install them  thanks guys |
