IDS system (UBUNTU HOWTO SOON)

I know a few of us are professionals in the IT section and was curious what your companies were using for an IDS system? Security has been a growing issues over the last several years espically with the recent attacks on different networks

With the start of summer and the kids getting out of school, i have been working with our security engineer to put something in place as we have nothing like this. (and im very surprised a lot of places don't)

I am playing around with Ubuntu 6.06 + snort + base and most likely squil (later on)

I'm using this install manual

But im having to do some things different because of updated versions and different packages. Ill be posting the updated howto if it doesn't violate any kind of copyright issues. Pretty much the base system is up and running, i need to clean up my notes and update the documentation for future reference!

So please share what you have to offer or if anyone else would be interested in something like this!
