Cedant dedicated FreeBSD server without root access. . .?
Hi All,
I'm having severe trouble accessing the root account on a Cedant dedicated server running FreeBSD 6.1. It obviously must have a root account, but I can't "su", "sudo", or "passwd root" for the life of me. All items decline me because, well they either don't exist or I'm not already root. For example:
"su" = 'su: Sorry'
"sudo" = '-bash: sudo: command not found'
"passwd root" = "passwd: permission denied"
I'm completely lost as to what to do. I've tried adjusting the shell access via plesk but nothing works. It amazes me that I can't log in with the main user account and access root. If anyone has *any* idea as to what is really occurring, I'd appreciate a bit of enlightenment.
RegardsI reserve the right to contradict myself. . .
