Strange error between Win and Lnx VMServers

I have a Dapper server set up on my network with VMWareServer (the latest version) I can connect to it via my Windows based VMWareServer, I can go through all of the motions of creating the new VM. But when I start it, I get this message -

Any thoughts? (I 'should' have access to that directory as I am logging in with my own credentials) -I have a similar setup at work, but I didnt encounter this.

Im not sure why vmware is trying to write to that folder/file. Check the permissions. Maybe you need to give it read/write and see if the error goes away.
