Xandros Mini-Laptop: ASUS Eee 4 & 8 Gb

solid state flash memory HD.
OS Version is customized Xandros for ASUS.

About $350 to $400.

7" screen.
Rumors of a 10" screen with 8Gb denied by ASUS.
Maybe true; maybe denials due to fear of interfereing with current sales.

Anybody know why Xandros.
Anybody with opinions on Xandros ?
Any users?

MegalosSkylaki

Comes in B & W.

Eww, B&W? I hope that's the colour of the box and not the display mode.

Xandros is a fairly good linux distro. Is comparable to Ubuntu in ease of use, which is probably why Asus chose it. Or maybe because of their MS agreement, says the cynic in me.

Pretty expensive for a mini-laptop actually, when Asus makes a normal-sized notebook with a full 15" screen that sells for about that price, minus operating system, I think. It's the flash technology (no moving parts) that would make oit attractive, though.

Links would have been nice, Dooog, Lucky Google provides some.

Cheers
Mick

Has anyone seen the mod (which was on LXer) at http://www.engadget.com/2007/12/04/the-20gb-eee-pc-mod/ which takes it to 20Gb?
