Embedded HVAC controller, maybe? These things could be used all over your house. Serial port to run the controls, ethernet for remote access and monitoring.

So ... They shrunk a NES down...

This type of product shows the great potential for shrinking computing but you have to remember that this also is VERY specialized. This would not be very suitable for a web server when the size of your web page(s) is limited to 2 megs. This would limit not only your content but your back end too. With 55mhz of processing power, don't expect to run anything more than DOS like applications. I can't think of any software made in the last 5 years that has a minimum requirement this small. Even my WM6 phone has a 200+mhz processor and a 32meg flash drive.

What i can think of other than HVAC controlers would be Ethernet/Network diag to test parity and continuity across a cable.

    Processor Clock:
    55 MHz
    Flash Memory:
    2 MB
    RAM:
    8 MB SDRAM
