downloading a driver to disk to use on another partition?
Hi all!
This may be a silly question, and feel free to say so if it is
, but will I be able to download a wireless driver to my thumbdrive and install it on another partition on my computer? I'm trying to install Ubuntu 9.04, and currently have it dual booting with 8.04, which I'm using right now to get online. I need to install the wireless driver on the 9.04 partition, but I don't have physical access to our router (in my roommate's bedroom, which he keeps locked
).
Is this something I might be able to pull off, or does the computer definitely need to be connected to the internet while installing and whatnot? Thanks for reading this, have a great night!

Yay, turns out I could! Well, I think that's what happened anyway.
I had already moved the driver files from my thumbdrive to the desktop (not necessarily installed) and decided to go browsing around for different preferences. Under hardware drivers it asked me if I wanted to enable the Broadcom wireless driver, and now I've got wireless, lol. Works for me.

would be nice, but honestly what good is it? Its not like the phones have much surface area to spread that heat out over to heatsink fins or material, and the heatpipes would have to be nearly paper...
