Looking for some guidance. I work for a small company with two physical locations connected via a VPN over the internet. Each location has a "firewall" that is used to create the VPN. The firewalls are actually old PCs that have been loaded with Open BSD. They have been virtually maintenance free for several years and are currently working fine. Here's the problem: Next week we are changing ISPs at one of the locations and one of the two static IP addresses will be changing. The local company that built and configured the firewalls is now out of business and we need them reconfigured to reflect the new static IP. I've called around a bit, but no one seems to be willing to sink their teeth into the problem.
One of them wants us to buy two Cicso firewalls at roughly $500 each and then pay a bit more to configure them. If that's the only answer, we'll do it and move on, but I KNOW this has a simple solution because several years ago our ISP upgraded (or merged or something like that) and we had to get a new static IP as a result. I called the local company and they sent a guy out who made the changes in both machines in less than an hour.
If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance!
Erik
