Windows7 using apps. that I recognize as Linux type apps?
Yes/ No?? Or am I wrong? There is nothing "special" about it, in otherwords, it did not suprise me in any way with "neat new things" because they did not seem "new". I have been bouncing around testing many browsers in Windows platform. My experience with Linux is limited to one day. But either it or Apple has apps. that Windows 7 is "crowing about" as their invention. I have not used Apple either. So it seems to me that Linux was where I saw this stuff first. Am I wrong in that assumption?
What is the viewpoint from those who have had more immersion in Linux than I??Last edited by friedemann; March 27th, 2010 at 09:49 PM.

Maybe I should have said "copied the ideas from" would be more accurate. Nothing so far in Win7 is new to me. I seen split screen before somewhere.
I seen touch screen before somewhere
I have seen the 4 sided desktop cube before(don't know where)
Am I wrong in thinking these are borrowed ideas? Or is my dope just that good?

I think linux beryl is what you are referring to as the cube desktop
Split screen or snap yeah nothing new there, its just an added feature
Touch screen has been used since I dunno when, I think XP might have been the first MS OS to use it though.
Most of what you are talking about is UI only changes. The problem is MS can't just go out and re-invent the wheel on a new OS and hope everyone will accept it. In the real world it just wouldn't fly, but hey I'd love to see some revolutionary UI that will change everything...
