Linux and Ubuntu winch is the best for a newbie? And how to install? I never install OS. So I need clear help on it. I am using Xp. But I want to move others OS.

I have visited Ubuntu community and Bookmarked it. I need to learn more about it before going to install.

Most Linux flavors have an option for a LiveCD. You can burn several from the provided iso files and then boot your computer from the CD and see which one's you like. It doesn't change your current computer setup at all, so it's a way to try them out without commiting yourself

I know this is an old thread but if you or anybody else is looking for Linux distribution information and reviews try looking here DistroWatch.com. This is where I get all my basic info then subscribe to individual distribution forum groups for more info and advise.

+1 for Distrowatch...I frequent it often - it is updated constantly.

osalt.com is great for finding alternatives to proprietary software. Like when you look up Photoshop it comes up with the Gimp among others.
