well i have a usb mouse, but whenever i reboot and put in my ps2 mouse, both of them magically work.
and the 2nd question again...that doesnt make sense. if it isnt running off of a hard drive, it only makes sense that if you have a computer running off of 32 mgs of ram that it wouldnt perform as well as with 512 mgs

The speed of KNOPPIX is more dependent on CD speed rather than RAM. DDR RAM (or RDRAM for the AMD-terminology challenged
) would always help, but even if you had 512mb DDR Ram, if you have an 8x CD drive and I have a 16x, my KNOPPIX session would be faster. If it's 32x or above speed you have, then this really doesn't apply to you.
Oh, and I think you got the part about the RAM backwords
Don't get me wrong though, RAM WILL help. But not as much as other things.
While I'm thinking about it, KNOPPIX uses compression to fit all that stuff on a CD. Meaning, naturally, it takes CPU cycles to decode stuff. So a fast processor would really help more than anything.Last edited by Redwolf; April 14th, 2003 at 06:27 PM.
