cyrus-imap help
I'm running FreeBSD 5.0. I've already installed postfix with support for DB3, SASL2, and MySQL. Then I installed cyrus-imap with support for DB3, and SASLAUTHD. I'm following a howto which can be found here. I have made all the dir's and now testing IMAP. I enter 'imtest -m login -p imap localhost' just as the tutorial states, only to have a cursor sitting there. Nothing happens. With frustration, I continue on and try to 'Configure Cyrus'. I create the dir's 0-Z and run '/usr/local/cyrus/bin/mkimap' only to create more problems. When it is chown'ing the dir, it says 'chown: cyrus: Invalid argument' it does that for each dir it chown's. Now I try to continue otherwise running 'cyradm localhost' as the user cyrus. I 'su cyrus' then run the command, only sit there with a still curson once again. With all these instances, I would have to conclude that something is wrong with cyrus. I haven't configured anything, because I was never told to. I've heard that this is a great How-to and was told to follow it to the letter. I need this mail-server setup quickly, any advice would be appreciated!
