filtering email in a unix system?? pls help -

mods, if you think this is the wrong forum, please move it. I just wasn't sure which forum to use.

anyway - I have used the account zexdance@holly.colostate.edu since I got it years ago (~6), however, since applying to grad school, that address has gone on every single spam list possible. I would like to change the address to an alias (let's say zexd@holly.colostate.edu). I would then like to filter out any mail that isn't specifically addressed to the new addy.

the only concern that I have is that zexdance@holly.etc is the actual account name (as in not an alias), so I don' t know if that addy will be in some sort of header information regardless....

anyway, let's just hope that's not the case. Is it possible to make some sort of .filter file for unix systems that can take care of this issue for me??

    thanks all

    .... and Spamassassin.
I dreamt that a large eagle circled the room three times and then got into bed with me and took all the blankets.

also, you can use popfile, which is a really neat lil tool.

there are instructions on the popfile site on how to get it to run with linux or unix. all you need is to have a working copy of perl, and almost all distros do.
