I have this one and really enjoy. It's only 4 pounds, is fast enough to do what you describe. I picked mine up at Office Depot.

Have you checked out the v505 series. I picked up a BCP/6 from ClearanceClub brand new. 4.4 lbs, 12 inch screen, 1280x1024 max res, 16mb video memory, supports 1gb SDRAM, 40 gb, p4 2.4, USB 2.0......$1500. Not a bad price for the feature set.

I'd suggest the Toshiba Libretto L5 also but that is really on the small side and they can be somewhat expensive. You might be able to find one for under $2000 but not nearly as much power (or comfort).
