Hello all, I'll be in the market soon for a laptop. The reason I need a laptop is because of a space issue. I really don't have much room for a desktop. I currently own a Imac which sits on my desk.
I'm looking to spend $1200-$1500. The primary function will be gaming, internet, etc. Is there really a need to get a 128mb video card on a laptop now? Many of the lower costlaptops have 64mb. Will 64mb be enough to run today's games? I'll be playing Battlefield and Warcraft. In the near future I want to play Star Wars Battleground and Lord of the Rings: Battle of Middle Earth. Thanks. |

Here's an article about the best gaming laptops...
but the problem is, putting the words 'gaming' and 'laptop' into the same sentence will cost a pretty penny http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/p...629407,00.html
You could put together a nice PC for that cost, but laptops is a completely different story.

I was looking at Sager. They seem to have the best for the buck. What are your specs Vagabond? Do you have a 64MB videocard? I just want something last me 3-5 years. Also, I plan on stacking the RAM. |

Only thing I'm worried about is the video card. Will 64MB allow me to play games for the next 3 years. I want to play World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth, etc. That emachine is a good buy. I've been looking at Sager too. |

i had a friend that had a sager book. i suppose if youre gonna keep it on your desk all the time plugged in its ok. the battery life on those things are only about 1 hour.
heres a suggestion: http://www.escstore.com/system_dept.asp?dept_id=SD-002
you can customize that sucker
basically a laptop with a centrino processor is a good get for battery life time. a 64mb card in a laptop will get you in with some games but wont last long.
i hope that helps some |
