TV out.......

I have TV out (nvidia 128 card) to display video from my computer on the TV.....works fine.......can i watch cable tv on my computer monitor? Thanks guys.

if its only tv out, then the answer is no. but if its VIVO (Video In and Video Out) then you can. If you dont have VIVO, then you can always get a tv tuner card.

EDIT: sorry, didnt see it in the mobile computing section. Nevermind about the tv tuner (unless they make 'em for laptops, i dunno).

gotcha thanx.......probably need to get myself a TV tuner card then.......is VIVO a video card utility, program, piece of hardware?

A VIVO connector looks like a tv out connection (i'm guessing your's is a S-video connection??) except you cannot plug in a s-video cable. It's a special type of connector that'll need an adapter and will have video in and video out in which you can connect the s-video cable.

hope its not too confusing.

I dont know much about tv tuner cards, but if ya stick around someone who does know will shed some more light on the subject.
