Apple iBook 300mhz clamshell

hi im trying to install a linux distro like gentoo or yellow dog or even mandrake to my iBook. the problem is i forget my password for mac.. i cant seem to boot the cd before it starts.. i hold C down and no luck. ive even tried the open frimware.. i burned the cd with Nero on windows xp.. do i need to burn it on mac or something?

Did you burn the ISO as a data cd or as an image?
