Question
Voltage & Power Supply question

Hi all!

I bought a new laptop a month ago, it came with a power supply that reads "Input: 110-240V~ 1.6-0.9A 50-60Hz " on it. However, due to a sudden event, I had to move from North America (uses 110V) to a place in Asia (uses 220V) for awhile.

Now, do I need to get a "voltage convertor" or something similar? Or that power supply which came with the laptop will change the voltage for me automatically since it wrote "Input: 110-240v" on itself?

Thank you in advance.

ps. I am new member, I hope I didn't voilate any rules yet. hehe

Isn't there a little red switch on the back that you can move over and it'll switch from 115v to 240v?

Hmm, maybe not if it's a laptop.

Hmm, I don't see a switch or anything like that, it just read "Input: 110-240V~ 1.6-0.9A 50-60Hz" on the label of the power supply and that's all the info I've got.

your laptop power supply (like most) is designed to accept a wide range of power incl europe & asia standards.

all you need is a simple plug converter so that you can 'convert' the 'US style connector' to match whichever country you are in.

Well if you still have the manual for the laptop, you can always check it just to make sure.
