| memory upgrade for emachines laptop.
I have an emachines m6805 laptop. Right now I have 512 mb of of ddr sodimm ram. I'm looking for a 1gb chip of compaitble ram. Any suggestions?

have you checked at www.crucial.com ? They have a wizard to help select the correct ram

Yeah I checked them out. I'm looking for a single 1gb stick of ram for my laptop. They offered only 512 mb sticks in pairs to equal the 1gb. I can onky access 1 memory slot without voiding my warrantee.
Plus it was kinda expensive. Like $450 dollars if I remember right. |

On the emachines web site, you can only have 1.125GB max for memory.

Yep, and that 1GB module, along with the internal 256MB module, will make 1.25GB
Next tax season I'm going to upgrade my M6805 to the max, let's hope the RAM prices will be down a bit by then  |
