I have a 10 year old acer sitting next to me that worked up until i gutted it for parts last year. I am still using its old 14" color monitor on my 500mhz PIII machine, and its still as bright as when it was brand new. Acer comes with brand name parts, well at least this one did. THe motherboard is Intel, the hard drive is maxtor(1.5gb i am using in my teamspeak comp) and samsung memory. I would think that Acer computers would equal to EMachines.
