Hello can anyone tell me why I keep recieving an alert that my 180 search assistant has been removed by a 3rd party?? What is the search assistant and can I delete it safely??? without harm to any programs? Thanks so much

Hi...umm I believe its a toolbar search engine that installs itself with you knowing (is that technically considered spyware adware I dunno) but I noticed it was on my parents comp as well. You can try and remove it from the Add/Remove Software icon in the control panel...sometimes not always that works because it can also embed itself into other directories....its worth a shot though (I'll let u know how I make out with my parents comp this weekend)

Sounds like some adware has been installed. Run spybot search & destroy and ad-aware to scan for any spy/adware. Be sure to update the definitions before scanning.
