Power plug on laptop damaged need help.

Power plug on laptop damaged need help.

My power plug (inside the laptop) broke the prong came off and its missing half the tiny casing around it. any idea of a fix? i mean would like anyplace sell this crap? or how should it be soldered back?

Here is one idea: open the laptop so you can get to the place where the plug is mounted. Solder a couple wires on where the plug is attached. Run the wires to the outside of the laptop. Now you should have a set of power wires coming out of the laptop. Connect a matching set of male/female plugs onto the ends of the wires and your power supply.

sounds good, but a bit messy. ill keep waiting for more ideas :P

well you can easily get the part replaced from your computer dealer it will be better than to try something that might lead to bigger problems
