LAPTOP DISPLAY PROBLEM

Loving Daughter Spilled Soda On Laptop{toshiba 1555cds}
Changed Keyboard, Changed Lf Inverter, Still Get Very Faint Image On Screen.
Perfect When Hooked To External Monitor.
Is There Anything Else I Can Try Short Of RepLACING DisPlay{ Last Resort, Price Wise}
Any Suggestions Greatly Appreciated, I Would Have Bet Inverter Would Do Trick , But Not That Lucky.

Check to verify voltage into the inverter from the mainboard, If none present start back tracing . You may find a surface mount fuse, resistor or, other opened . Should be salvageable if its just a backlight issue. I doubt the screen is the problem unless fluid contacted to CCFL when it was on. Dont try to verify output voltage from the inverter, this can be up to 1600 V , (Hot one). Backlights can be changed with some time and patience. I do them regularly.. If you need help, email screen size, make and model # on unit.

thanks for the suggestion and the offer of help.
will break machine down monday and check it out, i think i am going to change video harness . maybe a contact problem from the sugars in soda, at least encourageing opinion as far as replacing display.
it is a toshiba, 1555cds .
will let you know of progess if any.
