| HP Pavilion hard drive removal
I need to remove the hard drive from an HP Pavilion N5415 laptop. It appears that you need to disassemble the entire thing? One more reason to dislike HP computers.
Has anyone ever pulled a hard drive from a Pavilion laptop?

| HP N5415 Hard Drive Removal
The HP N5415 is not a machine (LAPTOP) to dismantle. You have to take to many screws from the inside of the laptop, under the keyboard, it is very hard, you might as well take a hammer to it. I dismantled one, and believe me you have to rip top of keyboard right out of its casing just to see the screws, The screws. are attached to the motherboard. You might as well buy a new machine that is easy to install Hard Drives, DVD-roms ect:
I have pictures of the laptop dismantled, but can't upload to this server, for anyone to see, if you need pics send me an e-mail at camytrade@yahoo.com.
Thanks........... |

Wow, it took 4 years to finally get an answer to this question. Thanks Camytrade. You are the best man. Well that just about flushes my hopes down the drain then. My mom has this laptop. She seldom uses the computer. So rather than have her go out and buy a new machine I wanted to see if I could maybe fix this one up. With the tiny 10GB hard drive that it comes with, the operating system alone, eats up most of the space. I foolishly bought a 30GB hard drive off ebay not knowing how difficult it would be to change this one out! What do you think I should do? Do you think that the keyboard can be removed from it's casing without destroying it? I will send you an email so we can continue this conversation there. I just wanted to thank you publicly.
