Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 - HELP

I just received one of these from an eBay purchase. At this time it "looks" real good ... however ....

The mouse pointer stays in the center of the screen and therefore it is extremely difficult to do ANYTHING with the laptop. It has Win XP Pro, Win Office 2003 & Photoshop loaded. I mention this although I don't believe they have anything to do with the problem. I do not have any system discs or owner's manual either.

It was a great buy, but DOH !!!! I'm hoping it's not stolen as the model # and serial # sticker is missing from the bottom of the laptop too. So I can't go to Toshiba online without the numbers. I have gone into the unit and have what I think is the serial # off a sticker on the main board. But at this point I have no way of really knowing what the heck is going on as I am not sure of the model # yet.

I'm open to any (positive) input here. Thanks.

Okay! Who says "time" isn't important?

After messing with things longer, I finally "discovered" how the mouse works on this machine. Hey, it's my first laptop okay.

I'm still sans the owner's manuals or restore disks, etc though. As soon as I can get the model number to match what I think is the serial number I found, I'll try to get some replacements from Toshiba. But if anyone in the meantime has a set for the 6100? I'd sure love to have some help here.
