Just got my new Vaio Laptop

And I must say I love it. It's the Sony FXA49.

AMD Athlon 1.2 gig
512 megs of RAM
30 gig HD
DVD/CD-RW
And 15" screen

With rebates it was right at $1500. Not chump change, but a great deal none the less. Sony was generous with the software, but failed when it came to providing any kind burning software. I guess they expect you to use the lame stuff that comes with XP. Luckily I own NERO so it wasn't a problem. Still not sure about the XP home version. I'm use to 2000. Maybe it will grow on me.

Wow .. that`s one great top quality Laptop you`ve got .. and for a reasonable price ...

And don`t worry about XP home .. coz it is the same as Pro ... but Pro has few features you will never need (2CPUs support, ad few features i don`t know) ...

So just enjoy it dude ..
Regards

Robin,

For the most part, when you scroll with a laptop it will be unreadable due to the LCD display. That's one of the annoyances that goes with flat-panel style monitors too.

Hi jgargac
You are right about LCD ... but new TFT screens have no visual problems when scrolling down or watching a DVD movie ..

My old Toshiba used to be really ugly when watching VCD .. but my newer one with TFT screen shows way better performance ...

Regards

I haven't noticed that being a problem so far. If you're referring to web pages, I don't know. I'm on cable and I can't really tell any difference from my desktop.
