I've never seen this before today. I bought a laptop about a year and a half(ish) ago a Compaq with Windows XP. It has a Celeron(yuck I know) processer with 1.5ghz and a 20gb hard drive and it came with 256ram. I added another 256 stick in later which worked just fine.
Anyways I just bought a much better desktop pc so I could play EQ2. So I formatted my old laptop and gave it to my parents-in-law so they could have a pc to use.
Well 2 days later they try to boot the laptop and it wont even run the boot up screen before windows. It just sits on a blank screen and beeps constantly. What could cause this?
I tried turning it off and back on that doesnt help...
Im not near the laptop right now as I am at work but I 'think' they were in sets of 3 beeps.
**EDIT** I just got a call from my husband he said it got overheated was all and I did the right thing by turning it off and taking out the battery and pushing the reset button with a toothpick.
He said it booted right up when he got over to thier house to look at it.
Thanks!
