Question
Good Deal?!

I am going to buy a laptop in the near future and I am wondering if you think this is a good deal for the price. I am going to use it as an entertainment center as well as a word processor.

I'm not too worried about low RAM for movies because I plan on buying more for it anyway.

Im not looking to game on it though so I dont need a great graphics card, but I do want to watch movies on it. as for the RAM, I am planning to buy more from 3rd party anyway.

Well I want it to do a lot of stuff not just watch DVDs. I want to watch DVDs, record DVDs, watch TV, record TV and do all other stuff like internet, word process etc...

That price is also after tax and everything including shipping

You realize that you won't be able to record TV or watch TV without a seperate USB TV tuner right? That card doesn't have Video-in of any kind, just output.

I see that dell offers a USB TV-tuner for 150 dollars.. but you could find one cheaper from a third party.

Yes, the USB unit will work. I was simply pointing out that the system specs you listed above wouldn't have Video-in, and that you will need the additional USB device.
