| Need help for finding high performing laptop
Hi,
I need your help in finding a right laptop that is not too expensive.
I am a computer programmer doing lot of Web Development,
I am planning to have both linux and windows on the laptop.
I need to run a lot of appllications/servers (Vitria,LDAP, Oracle, Java IDEs,webservers, applicaion servers and etc) simultaneously and need faster response times.
I am not able to decide if I should go to hyperthreading processors or just 3.0 Ghz ones. I dont care about mobility. I have looked at Dells,HP, Compaqs and IBM machines. But, am not able to decide which one to buy.
What configuration should I look for?
Is there any neutral website which can help me in choosing the right ones for my needs?
Do I need extended warranty?
Any help is appreciated. |

Where are you located?
That'll determine which websites are available to buy from. |

Well I'm in the UK so I can tell you which laptop to get but not where to buy.
Try newegg.con though.
Check out their range and compare it to your desires. |

I can't find it on either Best Buy's or Gateway's website, but I know for a fact that Best Buy (at least the one in my town) has a Gateway laptop with an Athlon64 3400+, 1GB DDR, 80GB hard drive, DVDRW, and a 15.4" widescreen. It looks like a clone of the eMachines laptops like mine but with more updates.
Check your local Best Buy and see if they have one.
