Travelling to Europe with my Dell Inspiron 5160 laptop

I am planning a trip to Italy & France.
What will I need to charge my Dell Inspiron 5160 laptop battery?

Is a european adapter all that is required?

Do I need a european surge protector?


As I understand it, the North Americam charger when plugged into an adaptor will auto sense the 220V, 50Hz european electricity and charge my laptop's battery accordingly?

Ya all that is required is and European Adapter, at least thats what I used when I was there
