| Sony PCG-FXA49
Well, I never thought that I would purchase a laptop from Sony, being as proprietary as they are... But I did. For the price, the laptop came with a 1.3Ghz AMD Athlon 4 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 30GB HDD and a 15" XGA Monitor. This laptop also sports a DVD-Rom with an 8X CDRW combo drive. My only complaint about this laptop is that it came with Windows XP. Although, after getting everything setup the way I like it, I have no major issues with the laptop. Just gave my "old" one to my dad, CMonster... |

Nice lappy you have there .. congrats ...
How much did it cost you?...
Well, winXP can be replaced by any other OS that you like, so i wouldn`t consider this a down side ... but hey .. whats wrong with XP .. it performs solid performance specially in laptops, the most amazing thing is the clear type feature which can give you a great crisp vision, this feature is especially for TFT screens ...
Regards and enjoy this little monster |

Sorry about the wait. The chipset in it is a ATI Rage Mobility M-1 AGP. Looks good for what I need it to do.
The price of it wasn't too bad, $1,559 before the $100 mail in rebate, and I decided to get a 2 year warranty for the monitor. |

Ptrper, are you still happy with fxa49? Ever compared fxa49 with gr390? I'm kind of undecided between the two. |
