| Modding the HP Omnibook 6000
I know this is a shot in the dark but-
Does anyone here know how to take an HP Omnibook 6000 apart? I'm trying to get the case off to do some modding and repair some inputs, but after removing the screws going around the bottom I seem to be out of options. The casing lifts apart around the outside but in the back center it doesn't move at all.
Anyone know where I can find a service manual? Preferrably one I don't have to pay for?
Thanks! |

Ya, alot of times they will put a warranty void if removed sticker over one or more of the screws. |

Wow, cunning bastards with their stickers..!
Thanks everyone! I'll be trying the sticker/keyboard super combination attack in the morning! |

you may be already aware, but with the 6000 and 6100, to disassemble you'll also need to unscrew a few screws hidden under the plastic panel covering the speakers. To pry the panel off, use a plastic wedge and carefully apply pressure upwards from the F-keys. |

I hadn't gotten back to this project yet, but I think I'm going to have to get back on it tonight! I could feel the resistance coming from that area but I didn't know about the screws hidden in there.
Thanks again! |

you're welcome. Unfortunately I've had to face a good deal of problems with these laptops. |
