wuz up guyz,
have a HP notebook, and all of a sudden got a 3-4 inch line of dead pixels! or that is what i thought it was. did some research on it, and now i think its somthin else,
when system starts up the line is white, then in windows its baby blue, and when i pay games or movies, its black
i thought dead pixels are pos to stay one colour! if anyone can help me out with a solution (other then replacing the LCD) it would be great!
thanks |

It could still be dead pixels, the one on my inspiron 8200 changes colors depending on what it's attempting to display. A 3-4 inch line? That really sucks. Is it still under warrenty? Sometimes if you have alot of dead pixles they will replace it. O, and do you see it at the bios screen? If so it has to be the lcd or video card, but I'm already thinking that you have had some really bad luck with pixles dying. |

did the lappy get bumped or something? anything to randomly kill a line of pixels (ex. something really heavy on the lcd...stuff like that) |

that might work, but not riskin it. Also in windows mode the line is blue, but some areas its a darker shade of blue, and these area changes (never in the same place), also then i move my mouse it also changes colour (blue to darker blue)... never read dead pixels doing this before!!! |

sounds like the connection to the screen is coming adrift. this used to be a common problem on gameboys and nokia phones. if so, it can be quite easily fixed by reseating the connector between the circuit board and the glass of the screen. you may want to pay a shop to do it, rather than to lose the fiddly little pieces by yourself. |
