| how to replace compaq BIOS?
on a compaq Armada 1750...I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows and now I cant get into the bios with f10
I did run the bios update utility and it said I already had the latest bios.....but I went ahead and reflashed anyway...so it seems the bios is there somehow...but how to do I get into it?
do I need to make some partition for it or is there a compaq utility for that??
here is the compaq page with downloads for it http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...te/4_1084.html
any ideas how to put the bios back to normal?
(I already ran the "system ROMpaq")
Thanks, JP

Cleared CMOS?
The POST screen comes up and indicates F10 to enter BIOS still?

I had an old dell that stopped letting me into the BIOS. The way I got around it was to remove a stick of memory and boot up. That computer would default into the BIOS with a memory change. I now it dosn't solve the problem, but it might get you in. |

oh yeah it boots no problem....I have installed W98se etc
I just wanted to change the boot order
there never was any "press f10" that showed up on this laptop...but F10 still got you into this bios....hehe, but not now |

so now if I do the fn/f11 trick to reset the bios it coems up and gives the 162 error "options not set" etc..then it asks me do I want to save the changes etc....but f10 still does nothing
there should be a method...the same as if you had to replace a hard drive.
