I love Dells warrenty. They are stable, fast and you can get tech support fast as well. Im not sure in your case so I would check it out but I would go with dell as their support is fast which is key when something breaks, if ever. I work @ my college's IT department and we only use dells. Most of our repairs are user errors. Like them feeding it a beer or something. |

The only knock I've heard on the Alienware Area 51 is on the battery charge length. With all that highpowered stuff, it tends to suck it dry real early. Dell has a new lapptop out called the Inspiron XPS GEN 2 that looks interesting. |

go with the dell because pentium m's are really fast even though they're not clocked very high, and gets good battery life. unless you can find something similar from alienware |

if you want a good gaming laptop, i think the pentium 4 is better suited than the pentium m. it's battery life is terrible, but it does get faster performance in the end.
The major thing to check is the graphics card. Most dells ship with crap graphics cards, so make sure to get a high end one. |

That may be so but the dell XPS will spank any other laptop in gaming performance due to the fact that it is equipped with a Mobile 6800Ultra which performs very close to it's desktop version. Don't be fooled by their low clock speed, the Pentium M's are very powerfull processors and have a much longer battery life. What is the use of a laptop with only 30min of battery life? Not that you would want to use one of these moster machines in the park. Overall, if you are looking for top gaming performance, get a dell XPS. |

What part off Mexico you live?
Do you have the border close?
If something goes wrong with your machine, most off the service will be in the US, I have seen the Dell on Mexico Website and most off them are a ripoff for the counterparts on the US site.
Ill say if you are going to get a desktop machine ill suggest you build one for yourself, You will have more control off the parts off the machine and know everything about in the process.
Alienware are expensive as this ones too http://www.voodoopc.com/sellPage.aspx?productID=1017

The new Dell xps is still a better computer. The power hungry P4 will give you no battery life. The Dell also performs better.
As far as support, I didn't read that you lived in mexico. I wouldn't know anything about that since I live in the US, but alot of their support is overseas anyway. I also don't see why you can't send it back to the US if you need repairs. |
