| Dell Inspiron 2500 problem
I am trying to fix my buddies Inspiron 2500 and during windows reinstallation the screen started to flicker...exactly like if you were to put your monitor up to a resolution it couldn't handle. I turned it off and it keeps on doing it when i turn it back on. Can anyone tell me how to make it run normal again??!!! Do you think maybe a connection or something got loose...the installation is xp and it was at the last 23min left (after being there for like 45min)

did you let it keep installing or did you stop it while installing??
I think it is normal for it to flicker etc when it gets to a certain point of the install...
if I were you I would boot from the cd again and try to reinstall windows again

well I was going to suggest to check the connector....but I am not sure about the stalling install...if you havent tried it already I would for sure take out any pc cards etc while installing |

all pc cards are out, and even again.....it still stalled, this is after 3 times of trying, i think that the cdrom might be a little old... i've had this problem on older cdroms, they just lock up for some reason....although it is past the copying part, do you think maybe a virus could be causing this? or maybe bad ram? |

hard to say..and its harder with laptops since it is harder to switch parts etc
you can check the ram with something like memtest86 it makes a boot up floppy and you let it run overnight |
