Laptop CD Drive Upgrade

I'm looking for an internal DVD-ROM kit for my Compaq Presario 1260 laptop. There is no "offical" kit for this laptop, but i was wondering if there was a generic internal laptop kit or if a drive from another Compaq laptop would fit. External is really not possible, because this laptop only has one PCMCIA slot (occupied by either a modem or NIC almost all the time) and i don't think anyone makes an affordable slim USB DVD-ROM. I just want to watch movies on the road (I tried ripping my movies to DivX, but the 333MHz CPU is too slow). Any suggestions?
