Last week I was surfing my normal sites. Techimo forum, fark, a sports forum, and gotapex.com. I ran into a deal I couldn't pass up. They were offering the B100 series laptops with for 499 with a free upgrade to a dvdrw drive. I went ahead and bought the b130 with 512mb of RAM, wireless card, and a dvdrw for $562! Its by far one of the best deals I've seen ever and byfar the best bang for your buck in the cheap sub 800 range.
I ordered it on the 13th, it shipped the 14th, and I arrived today!
So far its a great little machine. Perfect for what I bought it for - something to surf the net and mess around on while I sit with my wife and she watches more American Idol.
I'd highly recommend it to those users to just looking for a basic laptop. Its not the lightest, its not the fastest, but it works - and well at that.
I did make the mistake of not taking the 25 dollar upgrade to the 15' monitor. At the time of purchase, I didnt do enough research. I decided on the 14 expecting it to be a smaller laptop, but its not. Same laptop case, smaller screen. I'm fine with the 14.1' screen - but it does leave a large border around the outside of the screen.
All in all a great little machine. Keep your eyes open at gotapex. I wouldn't be suprised if you see another deal that is similar.
