Dell sure doesn't make it simple...

Morning!

I'm upgrading the memory on a client's laptop...a Dell Inspiron 2650...and what a pain in the booty!

The first module is easy...remove a screw, slide open the panel, pull out memory. The second module...good grief...I had to remove 11 screws just to gain access to it.

I had to remove the keyboard to be able to remove the EMI shield, which was hiding the 2nd memory module.

I'm assuming they do this so consumers send the laptops back to them for replacement parts?

My labor fees just went up.

So you're complaining? No, they design this system specifically for upgrading only one module.
